This post is purely my own personal opinion. I know this isn't a very big issue but I really have to blog this or else I don't feel good. I was sooo angry when i watched this video! The taiwanese celebrities are actually criticising our english. If they just feel that the way we speak english is weird, that's fine. But just look at the way they laugh at our english! Omg, that sucks. "所以你变成这种英文" Selina said this sentence. The way she said it, it sounded like she's looking down on our english! What's with 这种英文?! (This is just my own personal opinion, no offence please) I think the celebrities should not laugh at other country's local slang. Don't they have their own slang too? Did we ever laugh at taiwan's slang in public? That's a variety show for goodness sake! Every country has their own local slang and that's what differentiate one country from another. If our english just sounds like america's, does that make us singaporeans? Obviously no. We are singaporeans and of course, we speak singlish. But that doesn't mean that we can't speak proper english when we want to. No offence, but I bet some taiwanese cannot even string words together to form a sentence. There are so many taiwanese who cannot even converse using english so how can they laugh at us like that? It's like the pot calling the kettle black. If their english is perfect and they criticise us, that's fine. But, look at their english. I don't see how are they better than us in any way. Maybe after they correct the way they sing the birthday song first.

Oh yah, pang's BURSTday just passed. I shall sing a BURSTday song to her someday in Teo Heng :) Remember pang, your BURSTday song okay!
