Miscommunication is a darn bad thing. Since humans build their relationship through constant usage of communication, regardless body language, written, spoken language, etc. We can say that communication is the most essential part of establishing and maintaining a relationship. SO. Miscommunication is a very big thing although it happens all the time. Today, my dad got reaaaally fed up because I didn't appear at the bus stop on time. He had to turn more rounds and tried to call me a lot of times (but my phone battery was flat). That's not the point. Well, there's a breakdown in communication between my father and I. I had a breakdown of communication with my sister on the other hand too. That sucks. She misread the message. What to do. So she didn't inform me in time and that was the reason why I was late and wasn't at the bus stop when my dad arrived. If I were to pin point someone out, who to blame, who to get angry at, I really couldn't. To be precise, everyone did little mistakes here and there. But no one actually done anything wrong in particular. Sounds confusing? Yeah, is confusing. But because things were so complicated and that was why miscommunication occurs. But I've to say. Dad over-reacted. Normally he'd scold, he'd pull a black face. But just now he was totally screaming and raising his voice, throwing his temper all around, banging the door and more. I don't know how to tell him that I'm a victim in this situation too, like him. So why am I getting all the scoldings and everything? I teared a little bit (I wouldn't say cry because I didn't!). Felt so maligned, angry, sad and depressed. To be serious, it's a small issue but it really did tell me something big. Last time I didn't know why I don't like to go home for dinners, why am I always so scared of my own father and everything. But now I know, it's how strict my father is. In a positive way, he's a person who stand strong to his principles. He's not someone who will forfeit his principles and the things he strongly believes in for the sake of others. His personality is so masculine and I'd say the typical man. That is why he always gets things done easily and efficiently. In a negative way, he's a rigid person. One that refuses and unwilling to give leeway to others. A domineering boss and father. But no matter how bad my father may sound (through me :p ), it's no deny that he's a caring, responsible and patient father. How many fathers are willing to wake up so early to make breakfast and fetch their children to school (at the age of 18). I daresay not many. Sigh, I don't know what point I'm trying to drive at. & I'm lazy to continue writing. "A person needs to realize that eating right and working out is not just a passing fancy, but a way of life." A way of life eh? |
